Swap and share seeds, plants next week

Spring has sprung, and with it comes the start of the gardening season.

As members of the Brock community ready their green thumbs, they can find inspiration — as well as plants and seeds —  at a drop-in swap-and-share event Thursday, March 31 from noon to 3 p.m.

The Grow with the Flow Plant and Seed Swap and Share is hosted by the University’s Department of Geography and Tourism Studies.

Students, staff and faculty are invited to bring extra seeds, cuttings and plants for indoor or outdoor gardening to share or trade with others, including

  • perennials
  • annuals
  • houseplants
  • seeds and seed packets
  • bulbs, or
  • any extra gardening or planting materials, such as new or gently used gardening gloves, pots and small tools.

Please do not bring any invasive species or cannabis seeds or plants.

Those sharing are asked to bring plants, cuttings and bulbs in a labelled container and seeds in a labelled container or envelope.

New gardeners and those without anything to share are also welcome to participate.

Any leftover seeds will be donated to Brock’s new Seed Library, coming in April.

Items can be brought to the event or dropped off in advance in MC C-324 on Friday, March 24 or Monday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m., or on the morning of the event between 9 and 11 a.m.

For more information or to register, please visit the event web page on ExperienceBU.
