It’s important to talk … today and every day

A message from Interim President Lynn Wells

I’ve been inspired, energized and moved by the overwhelming level of activity from our Brock University community as we mark another Bell Let’s Talk Day.

Whether you participated in the SWAC Sleep Secrets program, took part in a seminar on mindfulness, learned how to build stronger relationships in a workshop, or participated in The Body Project program, I hope you’ve been able to take part in one of the many activities and events organized by the University and by our students throughout this week.

Perhaps you sent or received a Kind Mail message. I know that hundreds of emails are being sent by Brock community members, expressing kind thoughts of appreciation. What a meaningful and thoughtful way to show gratitude.

We’ve been through a very difficult and troubling two-year pandemic. At times, all of us have faced uncertainties, anxious moments and very stressful circumstances. It’s been a hard time. Today, and every day, let’s remember the importance of empathy, kindness and understanding. Let’s celebrate a community that demonstrates each day that we are stronger together. If you find yourself needing help, Let’s Talk and know that you are not alone in facing these challenges.

Thank you

Lynn Wells

Interim President
