The following is a list of thesis defences taking place from Monday, Oct. 4 to Friday, Oct. 8.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defence

Yi Wang, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Computer Science, will defend his thesis “An implementation of separation logic in COQ ” on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. in virtual format.

PhD in Biotechnologies thesis defence

Radesh Nattamai Malli Pooranachandhiran, a PhD candidate in Biotechnologies, will defend his thesis “De novo sequencing, annotation, and characterization of the genome of Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender)” on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Science in Earth Sciences thesis defence

Farzaneh HajSoltan, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Earth Sciences, will defend her thesis “Paleoceanography across the Pliocene–Pleistocene transition in the southern Bering Sea: dinoflagellate cysts and acritarchs from IODP Site U1341” on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies thesis defence

Katie Primeau, a Master of Arts candidate in the Department of Applied Disability Studies, will defend her thesis “Understanding Belongingness in Schools for Disabled Students who Require a High Level of Support” on Friday, Oct. 8 at 9:30 a.m. in virtual format.

Master of Science in Physics thesis defence

Michael Cosco, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Physics, will defend his thesis “Optical Study of (Nb0.5 In0.5)0:02 Ti0.98 O2 Crystals” on Friday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

Master Arts in Child and Youth Studies thesis defence

Evan Harding, a Master of Arts candidate in the Department Child and Youth Studies, will defend his thesis “The Christian Summer Camp as a Location for Queer Theoretical Inquiry” on Friday, Oct. 8 at 1:30 p.m. via video conference.
