Legal trailblazer to offer career advice at Women in Leadership event

When Brock alumna Angela Salvatore (BA ’02) returns to speak at a Women in Leadership (WIL) session on Tuesday, Sept. 21, she hopes to help inspire female leaders to step up into rewarding careers.

In her presentation, the Sociology graduate, who was the first woman to become Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Taxation Law Section, plans to encourage women, when looking at career options, to consider the adage that there are two certainties in life: death and taxes. She will share her thoughts on deciding if and when a career change is appropriate, and what kinds of positions women should reach for.

Salvatore, a Niagara native, will also discuss the effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the legal profession, especially on taxation law. And finally, she will look a issues arising at the intersection of taxation, family law and gender.

Her upcoming presentation will be her second at WIL. A recording of the previous session is available on the WIL website. An October session featuring Salvatore has also been scheduled.
