Thesis defences — June 7 to June 11

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, June 7 to Friday, June 11.

Biological Sciences PhD thesis defence

Margaret Thibodeau, a PhD candidate in Biological Sciences, will defend her thesis “Thermal tasting: methodological considerations and implications for alcohol behaviour” on Thursday, June 10 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Gary Pickering, Supervisor; Joanne Hort, External Examiner (Massey University); Sid Segalowitz, Internal External Examiner; and Ping Liang and Cheryl McCormick, Advisory Committee.

Chemistry PhD thesis defence

Nico Bonanno, a PhD candidate in Chemistry, will defend his thesis “Design of Redox-active Ligands: In Pursuit of Stable Radicals, their Complexes, and Assembly of Paramagnetic Coordination Clusters” on Friday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Martin Lemaire, Supervisor; Timothy Storr, External Examiner (Simon Fraser University); Maureen Reedyk, Internal External Examiner; and Tomas Hudlicky and Georgii Nikonov, Advisory Committee.

Master of Psychology thesis defence

Samantha Moeller, a Master of Psychology (Lifespan Development) candidate, will defend her thesis “Adults’ Perceptions of Forgetful Children: The Impact of Child Age, Domain, and Memory Type” on Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. via video conference.

The examination committee members are Dawn Zinga, Chair; Caitlin Mahy, Supervisor; Ayda Tekok-Kilic, External Examiner (Associate Professor, Department of Child and Youth Studies, Brock University); Stephen Emrich, Graduate Program Director; and Cathy Mondloch and Karen Campbell, Committee Members.
