Thesis defences — May 25 to May 28

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Tuesday, May 25 to Friday, May 28.

Master of Social Justice and Equity Studies thesis defence

Sana Shah, a Master of Social Justice and Equity Studies candidate, will defend her thesis “Twenty Years Later: Family’s Continued Battle for Media Coverage of their Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls” on Wednesday, May 26 at 1 p.m. via video conference.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Robyn Bourgeois, Supervisor; Jennifer Brant, External Examiner (Assistant Professor, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto); Trent Newmeyer, Graduate Program Director; and Margot Francis and Andrea Doucet, Committee Members.

Master of Psychology thesis defence

Sophia Thierry, a Master of Psychology (Lifespan Development) candidate, will defend her thesis “First Impressions of Child Faces: Facial Trustworthiness Influences Adults’ Interpretations of Children’s Behaviour in Ambiguous Situations” on Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m. via video conference.
