Public event to focus on support for patients with cognitive loss

Individuals and families trying to manage cognitive loss due to progressive neurological conditions are invited to a free community webinar Wednesday, April 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

“Brain health: addressing worries about aging and decline” will be presented by Associate Professor Claudia Drossel of Eastern Michigan University, a clinical psychologist and researcher specializing in late-life neurobiological health.

The webinar will include a one-hour talk and a 30-minute Q&A.

Drossel will give an overview of progressive neurological conditions, including Alzheimer’s and Lewy body disease, and also offer practical support for maintaining or improving the quality of life for patients and their caregivers.

The free public event is hosted by Brock’s Department of Applied Disability Studies and the Lifespan Development Research Institute. Registration is required before Sunday, April 18.

Participants are also invited to submit questions in advance.
