Brock University students are among thousands across Canada invited to participate in the annual Maclean’s magazine student satisfaction survey.
The survey collects insights and opinions about universities and is used to help calculate the positioning of each institution in the annual Maclean’s University Rankings, which will be published nationally in the fall. The results help universities identify their core competencies and areas in need of improvement.
Survey responses are confidential. They are collected directly by Maclean’s and are never seen by the University.
As a gesture of appreciation for completing the survey, Brock University is offering its students a chance to win one of several prizes:
- One of 10 sets of Apple AirPods
- One of 10 $100 gift cards to the Brock Campus Store, which can be used online or in store
- The Grand Prize of Apple AirPods Pro and a $500 Campus Store gift card
Maclean’s is also offering participating students the opportunity to win a $500 VISA gift card.
The 10-minute survey must be completed by Monday, May 31. To participate:

The student satisfaction survey is one aspect of the Maclean’s University Rankings that examines several factors about every university in Canada. Universities are categorized into one of three areas: undergraduate, comprehensive or medical doctoral.
Brock University is in the comprehensive category and is ranked according to indicators of research productivity; institutional reputation; faculty and student awards; and institutional resourcing for the library, student services, and student scholarships and bursaries.
Survey questions focus on the quality of the academic experience, such as quality of instruction, academic advising and experiential learning, as well as student support services, such as mental health and sexual violence prevention. The survey also asks students to comment on their level of co-curricular involvement and their knowledge of relevant and important topical issues, such as the level of support afforded to Indigenous awareness and human rights and equity.
Last year, for the third consecutive year, Brock University ranked first among all comprehensive universities in Canada for mental health supports for students. Brock also rose to second amongst comprehensive universities in Canada for overall student satisfaction, as well as academic advising.
