Thesis defences — Jan. 25 to Jan. 29

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, Jan. 25 to Friday, Jan. 29.

Master of Science thesis defence

Yasaman Hosseini, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Chemistry, will defend her thesis “Synthesis and Evaluation of Trans-bilayer Cross Linking Phospholipids Based on Click (Azide-alkyne) Chemistry” on Wednesday, Jan. 27 in virtual format.

Master of Science thesis defence

Brenden Matthew Carlson, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Chemistry, will defend his thesis “Hydroamidation of Vinyl Ethers by Acid-Catalyzed Multicomponent Isocyanide Addition” on Thursday, Jan. 28 in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Travis Dudding, Supervisor; Ryan Hili, External Examiner (York University); and Melanie Pilkington and Costa Metallinos, Committee Members.

Applied Disability Studies Master of Arts thesis defence

Madeline Pontone, a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend her thesis “Stakeholders in Dance: An Intrinsic Case Study Examining Facilitator Perspective of Dance with a B-E-A-T” on Friday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. via video conference.
