Thesis defences — Jan. 18 to Jan. 22

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, Jan. 18 to Friday, Jan. 22.

Master of Science thesis defence

Xuhao (Eric) Chen, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Computer Science, will defend his thesis “Neural Network Guided Evolution of L-system Plants” on Monday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Brian J. Ross, Supervisor; Yifeng Li, External Examiner (Brock University); and Beatrice Ombuki-Berman and Ke Qiu, Committee Members.

Master of Psychology thesis defence

Blake LaRiviere, a Master of Psychology (Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience) candidate, will defend his thesis “Investigating the Relationship Between MHI, Cognitive Fatigue and EDA” on Friday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. via video conference.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Dawn Good, Supervisor; James Janckert, External Examiner (Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Waterloo); Stephen Emrich, Graduate Program Director; and Michael Ashton and Sidney Segalowitz, Committee Members.
