The pandemic and resulting economic downturn have hit women particularly hard, says Kate Bezanson, Associate Dean in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Associate Professor of Sociology.
At the next Women in Leadership meeting, Bezanson will review the barriers and potential long-term consequences of this particular recession for women’s labour market participation, and outline policy steps that would assist in averting a gender regressive recovery.
Women In Leadership aims to support women in formal and informal leadership positions and encourage the next generation of potential women leaders. All women and allies are invited to attend the monthly virtual meetings.
