The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, Sept. 28 to Friday, Oct. 2.

PhD in Chemistry thesis defence

Vincenzo Ticli, a PhD candidate in Chemistry, will defend his thesis titled “Approaches towards C-10-hydroxylated analogues of narciclasine” on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. The defence will take place virtually.

The examination committee members are Tomas Hudlicky, Supervisor; Costa Metallinos and Art Van Der Est, Advisory Committee; Robert Batey, External Examiner (University of Toronto); Vincenzo De Luca, Internal Examiner and Brian Roy, Chair.

Master of Child and Youth Studies thesis defence

Jake Maiuri, a Master of Child and Youth Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Exploring the Effect of Maternal Heroin Use: A Single-Case Study on Long-Term Neonatal Learning Outcomes” on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. The defence will take place virtually.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; John McNamara, Supervisor; Keri-Lynn Winters, External Examiner (Associate Professor, Department of Educational Studies, Brock University); Hannah Dyer, Graduate Program Director and Committee Member and Samantha Sendzik, Committee Member.

PhD in Chemistry thesis defence

Maria Laura Sechi, a PhD candidate in Organic Chemistry, will defend her thesis titled “Stereoselective Synthesis of N-Propargyl Alkynes and Axial Chiral N-Allenes with Epimeric Imidazolone Auxilaries” on Friday, October 2 at 1 p.m. The defence will take place virtually.
