Planned power interruption scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18

Power to a few of Brock University’s buildings will be temporarily interrupted on Friday, Sept. 18 during a planned power outage.

From approximately 6:15 to 7:15 a.m., power will be interrupted in MacKenzie Chown D, G, J and C Blocks. This will only affect normal power.

The purpose of the outage is to allow for Brock’s electricians to perform emergency repairs and maintenance to the building’s electrical system. The emergency power system will generally remain unaffected; however, it may experience a short interruption as the electricians transfer to the back-up power system.

As a result, some computers may not restart automatically, disabling users’ ability to remote in. To restore this function, users should power on their computers manually. If users are unable to remote in, please reach out to Information Technology Services at ithelp@brocku.ca or call 905-688-5550 x4357 (HELP).

ITS will then work with Campus Security Services to power on users’ computers. Please do not come to campus to restart your computer.

Any questions can be directed to Facilities Management Customer Service at FM@brocku.ca or call 905-688-5550 x3717 or email Scott Kernicky, Manager, Electrical Services at skernicky@brocku.ca or call x6201.
