Brock University’s Human Resources department is reminding faculty and staff to apply for the 2020-21 Brock Mentorship Program ahead of the Friday, Sept. 11 deadline.
First launched in 2018, the University’s program creates and supports an inclusive mentoring community that fosters diversified knowledge, meaningful connections and the opportunity to both teach and learn from colleagues.
To participate in the program, eligible employees have the option of becoming a mentor or mentee.
Eligible mentors are employees who have been in a permanent position with the University for more than one year. They must also compete a mentor orientation (tentatively scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25).
All active Brock employees can become mentees. Those interested in applying should be focused on personal growth with clear objectives and be willing to receive constructive feedback.
The mentor and mentee relationship will run from October to May and requires those involved to commit to meeting for at least one hour per month.
After the Sept. 11 application deadline, mentors and mentees will receive their pairings on Monday, Sept. 21. All program participants will receive an invite to connect through an online Mentorship Kick-Off event tentatively scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2.
