Thesis defences — June 29 to July 3

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3.

Applied Disability Studies master’s thesis defence

Nicole Banach, a master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Parental Literacy Difficulties: Relations to a Child’s Reading Performance across Cultures” on Friday, July 3 at 9 a.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Jan Frijters, Supervisor; Dan Cui, External Examiner (Assistant Professor, Department of Child and Youth Studies, Brock University); Maurice Feldman, Graduate Program Director; Rosemary Condillac, Committee Member and Julie Koudys, Committee Member.

Child and Youth Studies master’s thesis defence

Lindsay Sheppard, a master of Arts in Child and Youth Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Girl Bloggers: Posthumanism and Girls’ Online Activism” on Friday, July 3 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Rebecca Raby, Supervisor; Jessalynn Keller, External Examiner (Associate Professor, Department of Communication, Media and Film, University of Calgary); Shauna Pomerantz, Graduate Program Director and Committee Member and Hannah Dyer, Committee Member.
