Thesis defences — Feb. 24 to Feb. 28

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place at Brock from Monday, Feb. 24 to Friday, Feb. 28.

All are open for the University community to attend.

PhD Comprehensive Portfolio defence

Education student Karen Julien will defend the Portfolio “From Hypocognition to Metacognition: The Cognitive, Physical, and Emotional Work of Developing Academic Writing Skills” on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Michael O’Sullivan, Chair; Ruth McQuirter, External Examiner; Vera Woloshyn, Supervisor; Michelle McGinn, Committee Member; and Tanya Kaefer, Committee Member (Lakehead University).

PhD in Biological Science defence

Wanxiangfu (Daniel) Tang, a PhD candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences, will defend his thesis titled “The role of mobile elements in recent primate genomes” on Friday, Feb. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in WH 206.

The examination committee includes Wendy Ward, Chair; Ping Liang, Supervisor; Zhongming Zhao, External Examiner (University of Texas); Yifeng Li, Internal External Examiner; and Alan Castle and Douglas Bruce, Committee Members.
