The highly anticipated Paint the Meridian Red doubleheader against the Toronto Varsity Blues is set for Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines. The women’s game tips off at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the game are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and youth. Limited courtside seats are also available for $25. All tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.ca
Ranked No. 8 in the country, the Brock women’s team has a 9-2 record and is tied first in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Central Division. Toronto comes into the game with a 2-8 record, which should encourage a game of grit as they hope to redeem their season.
Here’s what you need to know before the game:
Don’t put the bad in Badger
Brock University prides itself on being a good community neighbour. Paint the Meridian Red is a celebration, but everyone attending the game is reminded to party responsibly and make smart decisions. Any students arriving to the bus pickup locations or the Meridian Centre itself who are visibly intoxicated will be turned away and no refunds for purchased tickets will be given. Drink responsibly and stay hydrated and well-fed.
Getting to the game
No parking is available at the Meridian Centre, so anyone driving should park at one of the downtown parking garages. Students going to and from the game are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle busses running between the main Brock campus and the arena. These will run on a continuous loop from 5:30 until 8 p.m. and will take students back to Brock from 9:30 to 11 p.m.
Pickup locations on campus are at Quarry View/Gateway Suites, DeCew/Vallee and Lowenberger residences.
What you can bring
Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Meridian Centre, but empty refillable water bottles are allowed. Bags smaller than 12”x12”x12” and umbrellas that can be folded under 12″ will be allowed. Professional cameras, strollers and any drugs or alcohol are forbidden.
