The Master of Arts in Geography Speaker Series welcomes Ranu Basu, Associate Professor of Geography at York University, to deliver a talk this Friday.
Basu is the principal investigator in a five-year SSHRC Insight Grant project entitled “Subalterity, Education and Welfare Cities,” historically tracing geopolitical impacts on cities and schools through questions of conflict and displacement in Havana, Toronto and Kolkata.
Basu’s talk, entitled “Subalterity in education within the context of displacement: from ideology to practice,” takes place on Friday, Nov. 29 from 1 to 2 p.m. in MC C405.
