The birthday party of the quarter millennium was celebrated at Brock to honour the University’s namesake, Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock, who was born on Oct. 6, 1769.
Hosted in front of Brock’s statue on the University’s main campus, true birthday party fashion unfolded (cupcake eating, Happy Birthday singing, well wishes scrawled in colourful chalk), along with touches the General would have recognized, such as a presentation from retired History Professor Wes Turner and a proclamation from the St. Catharines town crier, with artifacts on display from the Old Fort Erie historical site.
