Harvard prof to talk impact of data analytics on online retailers

A Harvard Business School scholar will kick off this year’s Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series with a talk on the added value data analytics services provide to online retailers.

On Friday, Sept. 13, Assistant Professor of Business Administration Ayelet Israeli will present her research on the impact that data analytics has in e-commerce markets.

More than 1,000 e-commerce websites found an average increase of eight to 29 per cent in monthly revenues after adopting analytics, without changing their advertising spending or pricing strategies. Instead, they installed more prospecting technologies that allow websites to better serve and attract new customers.

The Goodman speaker series provides an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with international business colleagues.

Israeli’s talk will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Goodman School of Business room 310. Goodman faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend.

Brock community members interested in attending the talk can also email Jennifer Brisson at jbrisson@brocku.ca to reserve a seat.
