Faculty, grad students wanted for research ethics boards

Brock’s Social Science and Bioscience Research Ethics Boards are are looking for new faculty and graduate student members.

The research ethics boards (REBs) are responsible for reviewing and assessing protocols for research involving human participants within Brock University or under University auspices. The boards ensure that the physical safety and personal integrity of human participants in research are respected and protected by interpreting and applying the Tri-Council Policy Statement and relevant legislation.

“These dynamic volunteer boards provide a unique opportunity to gain insight into human research ethics,” says Lori Walker, Manager, Office of Research Ethics.

The REBs are currently looking for faculty members to serve a two-year term, and graduate students to serve a one-year term. Training is provided.

Interested applicants can contact Walker at lori.walker@brocku.ca

Information about the REBs can be found on the Office of Research Ethics web page.
