Applying Disney principles in the classroom at centre of Goodman talk

An American instructor will be on campus Friday to discuss how Disney customer service principles can help create an engaging classroom that students want to come back to.

At this week’s Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series, Russell Clayton, an instructor at Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida, will share his experiences of using Disney practices to enhance his classroom teaching.

During his talk “Teach like the Mouse: Applying Disney best practices to improve our college classrooms,” the self-described Disney enthusiast will share how the Walt Disney Company, as a customer service champion, excels as an organization and how faculty can implement some of the company’s practices.

The Goodman speaker series provides an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with international business colleagues.

The talk will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Goodman School of Business Room 205. Goodman faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend.

Brock community members interested in attending the talk can email Jennifer Brisson at jbrisson@brocku.ca to reserve a seat.
