Many fields that once conducted training in writing or face-to-face with an instructor have instead migrated to online platforms.
The lucrative business of online education — with an $180-billion market — will be the focus of an upcoming workshop hosted by Brock’s Centre for Digital Humanities.
The event, held on campus Thursday, Jan. 17, will walk participants through the concept of developing online training that meets unique industry needs, while also exploring the growth of the online training industry and how its shifts have impacted the market.
Led by training expert Michelle Dizon, “Packaging Knowledge: Online Training as a Product” will show participants how to create, package, maintain and bring to market a training product.
A project manager with a master’s degree in Information Studies, Dizon manages a team of eLearning developers and LMS administrators at Security Compass, a software security company that offers professional advising and training in the field.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. in ST105.
Spots can be reserved through ExperienceBU.
This workshop is part of a weekly series offered by the Centre for Digital Humanities that is open to all members of the Brock community.
The full listing of workshops can be found on the Centre for Digital Humanities’ ExperienceBU page.
