Brock students will again have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience on campus through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Applications are being accepted until Wednesday, Jan. 16 by Brock’s Office of Government and Community Relations to access funding for eligible jobs through the Government of Canada program.
Last year, federal funding supported several summer roles that positively impacted the University, including positions for three students who contributed to the creation of Brock’s Sustainability Plan and two for students who led Brock’s Trans-Inclusion and All-Genders Washroom projects.
Jobs eligible for the program include those that provide meaningful employment that contribute to a student’s career path and those that provide exposure to the mission of Brock University by aligning with its strategic direction.
To ensure all Brock applications receive the best consideration for funding, the University’s offices of Government and Community Relations, and Human Resources/Talent Acquisition will review each application against criteria set out by the program and will provide feedback, if needed.
All Brock applications will be compiled and sent to Canada Summer Jobs in a single submission. Any applications for on-campus jobs that are not included in this central application will not be considered for funding.
Completed applications can be submitted to Jayne Crawley at jcrawley@brocku.ca by Wednesday, Jan. 16. Forms are available on the Service Canada website.
Individual units will hear back regarding the status of their applications beginning in April.
Brock employees interested in learning more about the Canada Summer Jobs program are encouraged to visit the Application Guide and additional program details on the Service Canada website. Questions can be directed to jcrawley@brocku.ca.
