Walk with Brock in local holiday parades

With the busy exam season approaching, Brock faculty, staff and students are invited to take a break, get some exercise and engage with the community by participating in the St. Catharines, Thorold and Niagara-on-the-Lake holiday parades.

The parades take place Nov. 18, 24 and Dec. 8, respectively. A Brock float featuring a festive holiday scene will be the centrepiece of the University’s efforts and will be surrounded by warmly dressed volunteers at each event.

“Walking next to the University’s float is a great way to show Brock’s holiday spirit throughout Niagara,” said Mary Ann Tierney, Brock’s acting Manager of Student and Community Experience.

Tierney is hoping to see a repeat of the same enthusiasm expressed by Brock walkers in the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival’s Meridian Grande Parade this past fall.

Along with spreading holiday cheer, students who participate can also track the experience within their Campus-Wide Co-Curriculum transcript, under the Brock Spirit domain.

All participants should dress for the weather and be prepared to walk for about one hour.
