Here’s a look at some of the media attention Brock University received recently.

‘There will be more Brock across Niagara’: Fearon: Brock University President and Vice-Chancellor Gervan Fearon was featured in a wide-ranging St. Catharines Standard article in which he discussed Brock’s plan to further enhance connections with local communities.   

‘We’re gone unless someone remembers us’: An article in the Hamilton Spectator explored a First World War remembrance exhibit that will appear at Brock. Associate Professor of History Elizabeth Vlossak was quoted in the story, emphasizing the human cost of war and the impact it had on many soldiers and families. 

Local retired Canadian Forces member heads to Belgium for First World War Re-enactment: A trip to Belgium by retired Canadian Forces Cpl. Kieran Boyle, a second-year Sport Management student at Brock, was the subject of a Newstalk 610 CKTB article. While there, Boyle will retrace the route marched a century ago by Canadian soldiers during the First World War.

Labour market will balance out after wage hike: Brock prof: Economics Professor Felice Martinello was featured in a piece by the St. Catharines Standard that examined the positive and negative effects of minimum wage changes in Ontario.

Brock hoops teams holding court in downtown St. Catharines arena: Brock’s Nov. 17 doubleheader basketball event was the subject of a St. Catharines Standard article. The University’s men’s and women’s teams will take on the Ryerson Rams at the Meridian Centre, with the women’s game starting at 6 p.m. and the men’s game tipping off at 8 p.m.
