Tips provided for staying safe in high heat

Although summer does not officially begin until June 21, Niagara is already feeling the heat.

Brock’s Health, Safety and Wellness team is reminding the Brock community to stay safe as temperatures rise.

Earlier this week, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement as temperatures reached upwards of 30ºC. The high heat is expected to stay put until Friday, June 1, with the humidity index making it feel more like the low-to-mid 30s.

Visit Sharepoint for helpful tips to stay safe during the summer heat from the Health, Safety and Wellness team, which suggests that faculty, staff and students familiarize themselves with the signs and symptoms of heat-related illness. Taking precautionary interventions can prevent heat exhaustion, heat cramps or, most serious, heat stroke.
