The Office of Research Services is offering three events for researchers during the month of April.

Killam Research Fellowship Information Session

This webinar-format session will include the participation of Brock’s 2008 Killam Research Fellow, Elizabeth Sauer, and Leah Bradshaw, who served on the Killam adjudication committee from 2014-2017. The session is strongly recommended for faculty who are applying to the upcoming competition, those who intend on applying in the near future, and to research administrators and facilitators. The event takes place Tuesday, April 10 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Plaza 600F.

Canadian Common CV (CCV) Workshop

This workshop will be facilitated by ORS research officers who have extensive hands-on experience with the CCV for NSERC, CIHR, SSHRC and foundations. The first 20 to 30 minutes of the workshop will be an overview presentation of the CCV. The remainder of the time is available for attendees to work independently on their CCV with facilitators present to answer individual questions and offer tips and guidance. Drop-ins are welcome at any time during the session. This workshop is open to all faculty and research staff who work with the CCV.

Please bring your own laptop and a recent CV. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. The event takes place Friday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in Cairns 207. RSVPs are requested at orsadmin@brocku.ca

Early Researcher Awards (ERA) Information Session

Hosted by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Science, this session will provide an overview of the ERA program, information on the peer review process and an opportunity to ask program- and application-related questions. Two recent Brock recipients of an ERA will share their experiences in the application process.

All eligible researchers who are interested in applying to the ERA program this year, or in coming years, are encouraged to attend. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. The event takes place Monday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to noon in Sankey Chamber. RSVPs are requested at orsadmin@brocku.ca
