After recently opening their 2018 season in defence of the Major League Soccer title won in December, Toronto FC is bringing the MLS Cup to Brock University.
A free Community Open House will be held in Brock’s Ian Beddis Gymnasium from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, where soccer fans can take their picture with the Cup and meet Toronto FC executives. The team will also be holding a raffle with an opportunity to win a jersey and tickets to a game. Any kids who attend the community event wearing their local soccer club jerseys will get an extra ticket to the raffle.
The Community event will wrap up a daylong visit to Brock by Toronto FC that is hosted by both the Department of Sport Management and Brock Sports.
The day also includes an executive panel from 1 to 2 p.m. in Thistle 325, where guests can hear a behind-the-scenes account of working for the championship team from Toronto FC employees, who are also Bachelor of Sport Management alumni from Brock. The panel discussion is part of the Department of Sport Management’s annual Alumni Day event and is open to everyone.
After that, the MLS Cup and Toronto FC representatives will privately pay a visit to Brock’s varsity soccer teams, before wrapping up the day with the community event.
Complimentary parking for the event will be provided in Lot D.
