It’s not too late to give that gently used prom dress one more night on the town.
As most members of the Brock community have already attended their prom, a local initiative is inviting them to dig out their formal attire one more time.
In partnership with Education Foundation of Niagara, Student Life and Community Experience is collecting gently used dresses, suits, shoes, ties and other formal wear to donate to the Prom Project Niagara initiative.
In the last two years alone, the Brock community has donated more than 300 items to the cause.
The donations will be given to local high school students on Saturday, April 21 at three events taking place at high schools across Niagara.
“There is a lot of need for items of all sizes in local schools,” said Prakisha Pradhan, Student Life and Community Involvement’s Community Outreach and Volunteer Assistant. “Some students have trouble affording the type of clothing that is normally worn to prom, but the Prom Project helps to remove that barrier.”
Collection at Brock will take place outside of the Student Life and Community Experience office (MCA 204) and will run until Friday, March 16.
