Volunteers sought for Academics Without Borders project in Ethiopia

Academics Without Borders (AWB) has partnered with Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia to assist in the development and delivery of two courses within the newly established PhD in Law program.

The non-governmental Canadian organization, of which Brock University is a member, is seeking two volunteers to assist with aspects of the development and implementation of the program starting Jan. 1.

AWB carries out its mission by supporting projects in institutions of higher education in developing countries and by working with talented and committed people there who are initiating and sustaining institutional growth and change. It does this by sending volunteers from Canada and other countries to support these local initiatives.

Volunteers interested in applying must have a PhD in English, Applied Linguistics or Education and a minimum of five years of experience teaching or researching as an associate professor or equivalent.

If selected, Bahir Dar University and AWB will cover all expenses such as flights, accommodations, local transportation, travel and medical insurance, vaccinations and medications, and other incidentals.

For more information, visit Brock International’s website.

Applications must be submitted to Corrie Young at cyoung@awb-usf.org by Wednesday, Dec. 6.
