Avanti Chamber Singers to kick off Brock choral series

Brock’s Viva Voce! Choral Series will kick off this weekend with a performance by the Avanti Chamber Singers.

The Niagara mixed-chamber choir will bring its signature sound to St. Thomas Anglican Church, 103 Ontario St. in St. Catharines, Saturday, Nov. 18 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The group is conducted by Rachel Rensink-Hoff, Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music Education at Brock University. Rensink-Hoff was recently appointed the choir’s Artistic Director.

The Avanti Chamber Singers will perform mainstream choral literature, both accompanied and a cappella, during their first concert of the 2017-18 season.

Advance tickets, available until Nov. 16, are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students and the eyeGo program. They can be purchased at Thorold Music, 289 Glendale Ave., and Booksmart, 350 Scott St., or online.

Tickets at the door will be $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $5 for students and the eyeGo program.
