Thesis defences — Oct. 23 to 27

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place at Brock from Oct. 23 to 27.

All are open for the University community to attend.

Child and Youth Studies MA thesis defence

Child and Youth Studies student Michelle Janzen will defend the MA thesis, Experiences of Parents Advocating for the “Complicated Child”: A Phenomenologically Oriented Descriptive Exploration, on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. in Welch Hall 147.

The examination committee includes Diane Dupont, chair; Dr. Kimberly Maich, External Examiner (Memorial University); Maureen Connolly, supervisor; and Fran Owen and Voula Marinos, committee members. 

Master of Arts thesis defence

Laura Kovac, an MA candidate in Social Justice and Equity Studies, will defend the thesis, Girls’ Experiences of Aesthetic Sports within a Post-feminist Culture, on Friday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. in Walker Complex 251A.

The examination committee members are Dr. Diane Dupont, chair; Dr. Charlene Shannon-McCallum, external examiner, (University of New Brunswick); Dr. Dawn Trussell, supervisor; Dr. Shauna Pomerantz and Dr. Trent Newmeyer, committee members.
