New photocopiers will start arriving next week

From Nov. 1 through early December, technicians will be working their way through the University, replacing Brock’s current multi-functional device photocopiers/printers with new models.

As Brock concludes its current agreement for these services and embarks on a new contract with a different provider, staff from ITS and Printing Services will replace existing copiers with the Ricoh MP C4504ex Colour multi-functional device.

The new units are to be installed at a rate of 20 per week. Departments will receive a Quick Start users guide with notification of their scheduled installation date printed on the front cover. Existing Xerox devices will be removed when the installation is completed.

Besides using updated technology for improved printing, copying and scanning, the Ricoh system introduces services such as a Find-Me print feature that lets people print or copy at any device on campus, with charges being tracked to your department via the existing Paper-Cut tracking tool and your employee card. Getting print jobs to the new printers will also be easier due to a single-universal print-queue feature called Print-It. The new devices will be defaulted to black and white, double-sided printing.

Virtual training sessions will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. from Oct. 31 through Dec. 6. To join a live session, phone 866-946-1643 or 866-946-1649 and use the participant code 41000997. Then go to anywhereconference.com, select “I’m a participant”, enter your name, web login 202246980 and participant pin code 19499921#.

People will also be able to access an online training session and user manual at brocku.sharepoint.com/information-technology/Pages/ricohmfd.aspx

Any questions about the process can be sent to Carol McIntosh in Printing Services cmcintosh@brocku.ca
