Symposium wraps up cross-border exhibition

A symposium being presented Saturday at Rodman Hall is the final step in collaborative project between Canadian and U.S. artists.

The Post-Industrial Ephemera: Soundings, Gestures, and Poetics symposium will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at Rodman Hall.

The free community event will see a list of speakers delivering 10-minute presentations and interventions about the art installations and performances they delivered at Silo City in Buffalo earlier this year.

The artists taking part in the event include: Reinhard Reitzenstein (Buffalo and Grimsby), Catherine Parayre (St. Catharines), Gayle Young (Buffalo and Grimsby), Derek Knight (St. Catharines), Shawn Serfas (St. Catharines), Lauren Regier (Pelham), Cody Shriever (Buffalo), Casey Ridings (Buffalo) and Jean Zhu (Buffalo)

Partners include: The Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, Brock’s Faculty of Humanities, the SUNY Department of Art in Buffalo, Silo City and the Buffalo-based Harmonia Chamber Singers.
