Brock mourns death of student studying in Europe

The University is mourning the tragic accidental death in Germany on Sept. 9, 2017 of Brock student Troy Larouche, a third-year student in the Goodman School of Business dual degree program.

Larouche was studying at the EBS University business school in Germany. He had just finished a co-op work term with Dezignated, a German e-commerce company, and was scheduled to begin his final term of studies this week at EBS.

The University extends its deepest sympathies to Troy’s family and friends, including his brother Ryan, who is Employer Development Manager in Brock’s Co-op Programs office.

Goodman School Associate Dean Dianne Miller, and Meredith Heaney, Goodman’s Manager of International Exchanges and Partnerships, are traveling to Germany to assist the other 14 Goodman students currently studying at EBS, to be with them as they work through this difficult time.

Details about a memorial service will be shared as they become available.

Troy, whose hometown was Welland, was popular among his many friends, and grief counselling is available here at Brock for any of his colleagues. For information about counselling, please contact Brock’s Personal Counselling Services at https://brocku.ca/personal-counselling/
