Brock Media Clips for Tuesday, Aug. 8

Here’s a look at some of the media attention Brock University received recently.

Brock U water safety expert comments on black water spill: Emeritus Professor of Chemistry Ian Brindle continued to speak with the media over the weekend about the black water spill in the Niagara River. He appeared on CHCH News and on CBC Friday, and was interviewed on CKTB’s Tim Denis Show Monday.

Niagara teacher heads north: Recent Brock graduate Emily Girotti will soon travel to Poplar Hill First Nation, a remote northern Ontario community near the Manitoba border that’s only accessible by plane, to start a two-year stint at an elementary school. The Niagara Falls Review interviewed Girotti about the opportunity.

BU basketball team bound for Canada: The Brock Badgers men’s basketball team will open their pre-season schedule against the Binghamton Bearcats, a Division 1 school in New York. A local news network near Binghamton picked up the story about the school making the trip north.
