Applications are now open for the local business community to take part in leadership development seminars held at Brock University’s Goodman School of Business.
The seminars, offered through Goodman’s Centre for Innovation, Management and Enterprise Education (CIMEE), are part of a certificate program that is open to the public.
Brock alumna Diana Lenartowich (BA ’12) knows first hand the benefit of the business seminars.
Lenartowich made her return to the classroom earlier this year when she participated in the Professional Leadership Development certificate program offered through CIMEE.
After graduating from Brock, the business communications alumna went on to graduate from Niagara College’s international business program before joining Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada as a business development manager.
“There’s never a time to stop learning,” said Lenartowich. “We’re always learning whether we recognize it or not. This is just a more structured process of learning.”
The seminars are run in partnership with the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and take place on Brock’s campus. Running every Tuesday from Sept. 25 to Nov. 6 (excluding Oct. 9), they cover topics such as leadership, mentorship, coaching and change management.
Seeing the value it would add to her career, Lenartowich immediately jumped at the opportunity to learn with CIMEE.
“The biggest draw was the fact that it was associated with the Goodman School of Business.” she said. “I recognized the name, I know the reputation for fantastic education. Beyond that, I’m also at a position in my career where I’m really trying to get to the next level of leadership and doing everything I can do prepare for that next step.”
Lenartowich said she considers the program a “piece of learning that I could add to my personal toolkit that is going to help prepare me for what’s next.”
