Brock University Chancellor Shirley Cheechoo penned an open letter to outgoing Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Tom Traves, thanking him for his time with the University.

Cheechoo writes:

Dear Mr. President,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you on behalf of the University for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us.  The moments I had with you I will always remember with great pride.

It is hard to find the words to express how very meaningful the events of the year were to me personally, and I hope that you enjoyed your time with Brock as thoroughly as we did.

It’s an honour for us to have had the opportunity to work and get to know a person with many milestones and a vision for the achievements of our students, our faculty, our staff and our international identity.

You have been a gift to Brock University’s history and to its brighter future.

I am very honoured to have met you and I was deeply touched to share the stage with you. Thank you for all your support and inspiration, and for leaving a message of a promising future for Brock University.
