Brock’s Wellness Day is quickly approaching and while space remains in many of the available workshops, time is running out to get registered.
Faculty and staff are reminded that registration will close on Thursday, June 6 at 4:30 p.m.
More than 550 people have already signed up for the day of health and wellness activities that will take place across campus June 15.
The day’s opening plenary speaker will be Brock alumna Sherry Campbell, a psychotherapist and professional speaker who will discuss personal resiliency in difficult times.
Campbell is the co-founder, author and presenter of The Resilient Journey, which focuses on developing a resilient workforce with tailored workshops dealing with issues such as difficult times, managing workplace stress and different personalities, how to cope with a bad day and balancing work and life.
Campbell will talk about increasing one’s ability to deal with the curveballs life sometimes throws.
Wellness Day will include more than 80 workshops across eight areas of wellness: social, emotional, physical, financial, intellectual, environmental, occupational and spiritual.
A detailed brochure is posted on the Wellness Day Sharepoint page.
Because space is limited and some sessions have waitlists, anyone who registers for a workshop, but isn’t able to attend, is asked to e-mail wellnessday@brocku.ca to cancel your registration.
The Wellness Day Penny Sale will also be held again, and donations are welcome from all staff and faculty. Contact wellnessday@brocku.ca if you know of a local business interested in providing items.
Follow Wellness Day on Twitter and Facebook for updates and details regarding Wellness initiatives and resources. A new “Employee Wellness” group has also been created on Yammer in Office 365.
