Mental Health Week yields donation to Canadian Mental Health Association

Despite the rainy weather that forced a fundraising barbecue inside, Brock’s Mental Health Week raised $352 for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Niagara chapter.

The barbecue concluded a week of activities held on campus from May 1 to 5 in support of mental health awareness.

Inclement weather forced the barbecue indoors but the Brock community was still able to top its 2016 fundraising goal.

“We’re hoping as we move forward next year, the weather will co-operate,” Health Management Consultant Bailey Seward said lightheartedly.

She’s confident Brock’s momentum in support of the local mental health agency will continue to grow in 2018.

Seward said the 2017 Mental Health Week activities were all well received, with many running at capacity.

“It was great to see people supporting mental health awareness,” she said. “We will be running this again next year, so we hope to see everyone out.”
