When participants strapped on their sneakers in the inaugural Rankin Cancer Run twelve years ago, the Brock community was there.
The University has had a presence annually at the popular St. Catharines event — and this year will be no different.
Students, staff and faculty are invited to join the Brock team that will be participating in the run on Saturday, May 27 at the Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara St.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. followed by the run at 10.
The 2016 event brought in record donations, with $1 million raised to support cancer care in Niagara. In its history, the run has raised more than $6.5 million for the worthy cause.
Participants can choose to walk or run the available one- or three-kilometre routes that go through Port Weller along the Welland Canal.
To register to be a part of Brock’s team at the 12th annual event, visit the Rankin Cancer Run website and search for the team name Brock University.
Registration, which includes an event T-shirt and barbecue lunch, is $10 for students and $20 for all other participants.
Anyone unable to participate who would like to make a donation on behalf of the Brock team can do so by visiting the Student Life Involvement Commons in Mackenzie Chown A-Block 204.
