In a showing of respect and support, flags at Brock University will be positioned at half-mast on Friday, April 28 to recognize National Day of Mourning.
The nation will pause Friday to remember workers who have lost their lives, been injured at work or suffered from work-related illnesses.
This day of remembrance was declared by the Canadian Labour Conference in 1984.
More information about the day is available online from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
Faculty, staff and students are being asked to take some time Friday to reflect on National Day of Mourning.
Human Resources is reminding the Brock community that everyone plays an important role in health and safety and contributes to making the University a safe place to work and study.
