Brock University ITS wants you to verify before you trust and think before you click.
That’s the focus of a new cyber security phishing campaign launched recently by ITS. The message is to think about who an email is coming from before clicking on it and entering personal information such as passwords.
Throughout 2017, ITS is offering workshops and events that focus on cyber security awareness. On March 29, there will be two separate workshops on the issue. The Phishing – Cyber Security Awareness Workshop will take place from 9 – 9:30 a.m. in the Computer Commons Training Room.
Following that, the March Madness Cyber Security Awareness Event will take place from 11 a.m. to noon in Plaza 310 it will be facilitated by Prof. Teju Herath from the Department of Finance, Operations, and Information Systems, and David Hitchock from ITS.
Both are open to faculty and staff.
Also taking place the same week is a March Madness Cyber Security Awareness knapsack giveaway on March 28. Faculty and staff can get a free cyber security knapsack by answering a question related to the issue. The giveaway will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Mackenzie Chown hallway.
