Aboriginal Research Advisory Circle seeking members

Brock’s Aboriginal Research Advisory Circle (ARAC) is recruiting new members.

The Research Ethics Board (REB) is seeking graduate students, senior undergraduate students and faculty to serve with the volunteer group that supports the REB and Brock researchers by conducting a culturally informed review of applications for research involving Aboriginal peoples.

ARAC ensures that research applications meet the criteria outlined under Chapter 9 of the Tri-Council Policy Statement with consideration for Indigenous cultural protocols, histories and traditions.

All members should:

  •    self-identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis
  •    be well-versed in Aboriginal culture
  •    be able to commit four hours per month
  •    attend annual training and complete the TCPS2 CORE Tutorial.

ARAC provides a unique opportunity to contribute to and gain insight about human research ethics involving the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples of Canada.
