Tammy Sweeney (BEd ’95), CEO of the Women in Leadership and Business and Born2Lead conferences that are being held next month, speaks about the events on the Conversations with Goodman podcast with host Susan LeBlanc.
The conferences bring participants together for an interactive professional development opportunity to help them to succeed in their careers.
Born2Lead is focused on youth leadership and provides young entrepreneurs ages 16 to 26 with an opportunity to join the Women in Leadership and Business delegates to hear the keynote address and learn from a professional conference experience.
Held at White Oaks Resort and Spa, the conference is going into its seventh year in Ontario.
Brock’s Goodman School of Business has been a supporter of the conference since it started in 2011.
The brainchild of Brock grad Ildi Arlette (BA ’92, BA ’06), the conference has also since expanded to Alberta.
“This whole conference is about practical, tangible things that I can take away and apply in my world tomorrow that will help me get from where I am now to the next journey or my next adventure or my next level,” Sweeney said.
The Women in Leadership and Business conference is set for March 26 to 28 and Born2Lead for March 27.
Sweeney explained that the theme for this year’s conference centres on building strength from within to take on the next challenge ahead.
This podcast is the latest in the Conversations with Goodman series which is produced by the Goodman Marketing, Communications and Alumni Relations team and features guests from the Goodman community.
