Show Badger pride and wear red on Friday

Already the most successful University lacrosse program in Canada, the Brock Badgers will be aiming for their 19th national title this weekend when they host the 2016 Canadian University Men’s Field Lacrosse Championships starting Friday.

To help kick off the CUFLA Baggataway Cup, Brock will host a Red Day Friday across campus where University faculty, staff and students are encouraged to don the Badger red.

The Badgers have won 18 Baggataway Cup titles in the 31-year history of the league. They’ll start the road to this year’s championship with the opening game of the tournament Friday at 5 p.m. on Alumni Field, which will host the whole tournament through Sunday.

In addition to the game Friday night, there will be food trucks and a licensed area on site. Weekend passes for the championship are $25 and individual game tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youths and seniors.

Also on Friday, the Badgers women’s volleyball team will play its home opener against Lakehead at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
