Goodman School of Business honours consulting and business leader Martin Philp

In recognition of his successful career in business, Martin Philp (BAdmin ’80, MA ‘86) has been named the 2016 Distinguished Graduate of the Goodman School of Business.

The Distinguished Graduate Award celebrates the outstanding professional or personal achievements of graduates of the Goodman School of Business at Brock University.

Philp was presented with the award at a reception event on campus recently and will be recognized again at Homecoming in September.

“We are pleased to honour Marty as a distinguished alumnus,” said Barry Wright, interim dean of the Goodman School of Business.

“Not only is he a renowned leader in his field who has had a remarkable career in business, but his dedication to supporting our students and school through various initiatives is extraordinary.”

Throughout his career, Philp has worked as a corporate executive and president of a multinational corporation, the managing director of a private equity firm, and as a strategic business consultant working with clients ranging from start-ups to large corporations.

Specializing in business transformations, strategic development and organizational cultural shifts, Philp has held various roles with responsibilities across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

As founder of NEXT Advisory Partners, Philp has been routinely sought out to help with organizational restructuring, turnarounds, strategic direction, new product development, business sales and mentoring.

Philp has also served on the board of directors of Ingersoll-Rand Canada and its various subsidiaries and acts as an advisory board member for a number of privately-held small businesses and charitable organizations.

Philp plays an active role on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Goodman School of Business and is the Honourary President of the Goodman Business Students’ Association and Vice Chair of the Residency Advisory Committee for BioLinc, Brock’s business incubator run by the Goodman School of Business.
