Good Morning Goodman continues this week with co-hosts Susan LeBlanc and Amanda Malkiewich announcing that Goodman graduate Martin Philp (BAdmin ’80, MA ’86) is the recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Graduate award for the Goodman School of Business.
The Goodman School of Business community is invited to join a reception honouring Philp Thursday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. in the Scotiabank Atrium.
The podcast duo congratulate the 26 Niagara Parks Commission employees who graduated last week from their Professional Leadership Certificate program. Led by Goodman’s Centre for Innovation, Management and Enterprise Education, the executive education program was customized for the Niagara Parks Commission.
BioLinc, Brock’s business incubator run by the Goodman School of Business, held its Student Entrepreneur Kick-Off Weekend last weekend in partnership with Niagara College’s Takeoff program. Brock sport management student Robert Babiak and Niagara College student Daniel Read teamed up on their business, Niagara Sports Network, and won the overall prize package of $5,500 in-kind startup services.
Students, staff and faculty are invited to attend the PepsiCo Apprentice Challenge on Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. in Isaac’s Bar and Grill. Hosted by the Brock Marketing Association in partnership with Brock University Students’ Union and Goodman School of Business, the challenge will see student teams pitch their recommendations and business solutions to a real business case provided to them by PepsiCo. Staff from PepsiCo will join the judging panel.
Students currently taking ACTG 1P11 are invited to compete in the CPA Case Presentation Day on Nov. 26. An opportunity to develop decision-making processes and presentation skills, the on-campus business case simulation has been developed for students looking to gain experience in these areas.
There are several events being held over the next two weeks for student entrepreneurs including a networking event hosted by Owners Wanted on Nov. 16, two workshops hosted by Innovate Niagara next week and three workshops hosted at the new MakerSpace in the Library. Students can find information on all events on the BioLinc website.
