Brock University selected for student GIS Scholarship

The James A. Gibson Library and the Department of Geography & Tourism Studies have announced that Brock University is one of a select group of universities and colleges in Canada recognized for its strong, multidisciplinary focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) by Esri Canada.

For the sixth consecutive year, Brock University has been selected to participate in the Esri Canada $1,000 GIS Student Scholarship Program. This Scholarship is meant to help support a Brock undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled, dedicated and high achieving to continue his/her studies in GIS and consider it as a post-graduation career option.

Students interested in applying should visit the following website for guidelines, the application process, project content, deliverables and the recipient’s responsibilities to Esri. The intent to participate and project outlines are due by Nov. 11.

Students will be competing for the scholarship by presenting their proposals on Thursday, Nov. 17, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the MDG Library (MC C306). Everyone is welcome to attend.
